Pedro and soccer injuries

soccer injuuries

Hi, I’m Pedro – a Brazilian physiotherapist here in Perth. Yes, Brazilian… so let’s just say soccer and soccer injuries run in my veins. Back home, we don’t just play soccer — we breathe it. Honestly, I think we learn to kick a ball before we learn to walk.

So, why am I the best physio in Perth for treating soccer injuries? Simple: I’ve lived it, trained it, treated it, and yes, probably even dreamed about it. 😄 Oh, and I also worked as a consultant physiotherapist for Santa Cruz Futebol Clube, one of the biggest professional soccer teams in the northeast of Brazil. Real team, real pressure, real injuries — and real results.

But jokes aside — soccer is one of the most physically demanding sports out there. It’s fast, explosive, and full of quick changes in direction. That’s exactly why injuries are so common, and why I’m here to help you stay on the field.

What’s Really Going On With Soccer Injuries?

Whether you’re a weekend warrior, a young rising star, or a seasoned player, there are a few usual suspects I see in clinic:

  • Hamstring strains (you know the one… that sharp ouch after a sprint)
  • Groin strains
  • ACL or meniscus injuries
  • Ankle sprains
  • Shin splints
  • Hip flexor or adductor overload

Most of these come down to a combination of factors: poor load management, lack of proper warm-up, underdeveloped strength in key muscle groups, or just trying to go too hard, too fast (we’ve all been there!).

How Do We Prevent and Treat Soccer Injuries?

Here’s my approach — equal parts Brazilian intuition and evidence-based practice:

  1. Thorough assessment: I look at your movement, your strength, and your history (and maybe your last game’s highlight reel).
  2. Targeted rehab: From glute strength and core stability to plyometrics and sport-specific drills, we rebuild your body the right way.
  3. Education: I’ll make sure you understand why the injury happened and how to prevent it — because smart players stay healthy longer.
  4. Return-to-play plan: Whether it’s a casual 5-a-side or a competitive match, we build a clear and safe pathway to get you back on the pitch.

Bonus: I might even teach you a Brazilian soccer skill or two — and if you’re lucky, a few stories about the greatest Brazilian players of all time. 🇧🇷⚽

What If You Could Stay Injury-Free All Season?

Imagine playing the entire season pain-free. No more physio visits mid-season. No more sitting out games you were pumped for. Just consistent, confident performance.

That’s not a fantasy — it’s possible with the right plan, the right guidance, and a physio who gets the game. And if you’re in Perth, you’ve already found him. 😉

So whether you’re recovering from injury, wanting to boost performance, or just want a proper injury prevention plan, come chat with me. Let’s make sure your body is as ready for game day as your mind is.
